The Race to the Sky is a unique exhilarating race featuring beautiful talented sled dogs that starts in Helena Montana. This 6-day event is one of the qualifying races for the Alaskan Iditarod. The race covers 350-miles of breathtaking Montana back country.
Witness the start of this exciting race at Camp Rimini, a former World War II Dog Training and Reception Center. From Camp Rimini up to 35 teams will run 45 miles to Deer Lodge. The dogs and mushers will sled from Saturday through Tuesday with some not finishing till Wednesday afternoon. There will be an awards ceremony Wednesday night in Lincoln, Montana.
This exciting sporting event also offers fun for children and the entire family. There will be activities for the tots, dog sledding history and information, a silent auction, shopping, food and much more.
