St. Peter’s Hospital will be opening its new 800,000 square foot medical office building this week. The new 3 story, $15 million dollar building opens its doors on Monday and will begin admitting patients.
The new building has room for more than 30 doctors, a lab, an x-ray area and a full-service pharmacy. The lab is connected to the main St. Peter’s Hospital by pneumatic tubing so that blood samples and other tests can be sent from one building to the next without leaving either of the buildings.
The new hospital will also boast “group rooms” where groups of six to ten patients can come together for meetings or lectures. patients will also go directly to an exam room as there are NO waiting rooms. This way healthy people will not be in the same area as sick people as they regularly are at traditional hospitals.
