Special Exhibits Currently at the Montana Historical Society

The Montana Historical Society Museum is currently showing two extraordinary Special exhibits through April of 2009.

Sitting Proud: Indian Portraits of Joseph Scheuerle is an exhibit of skillfully painted portraits of Indians that he knew, respected and cared for. It also includes his commentary regarding the circumstance of the portraits at the time they ere made.  A fascinating look back in time.

Traditions in Color and Comfort: Montana’s Quilting Heritage is a collection of wonderful quilts from Montana Historical Society’s permanent collection. These quilts speak of different techniques and were created by women of many different cultural and regional backgrounds in Montana’s History.
