Helena National Forest

The Helena National Forest surrounds the beautiful Capital City of Helena in Montana. It boasts almost one million acres of rocky mountain landscape in west-central Montana.  The Helena National Forest sits on the Continental Divide and is loaded with natural and cultural resources.  It also offers visitors breathtaking scenery and endless recreational opportunities.  The Forest offers a diverse array of flora and fauna as well as historic relics such as Indian cliff paintings and authentic mining ruins.

The Montana Discovery Foundation partners with the Helena National Forest in order to conserve and enhance the national resources of the Helena area, it also focuses on wildlife habitat, watershed awareness and responsible outdoor recreation.
