More than 150 dog owners and their furry friends came to Helena to raise money and awareness for the Helena Humane Society. The event raised more than $4,500 in in pledges and donations. This money goes to the privately funded shelter’ operating expenses.
This is the first year that the event was held downtown instead of on the streets surrounding the Capitol building. The downtown location offered additional exposure. Although always a popular event the downtown location was a huge success drawing a record crowd to watch the four-block parade of dogs and their owners and a dozen dogs from the shelter stretched along Park Avenue.
