The Montana Military Museum

This museum offers federal and state exhibits that showcase the rich military history and heritage of Montana. Beginning with artifacts from the Lewis & Clark Expedition  through to present day Global War on Terror. This authentic and interpretive museum is located in the Montana National Guard Training Center, just west of Helena. The Museum’s has over 6,000 military exhibits some of these artifacts date all the way back to 1805.  You can also explore Civil War memorials and 20th century objects from the Gulf wars.  The museum is housed within the walls of Historic Fort Harrison. This fort was established in 1892 and is now the only remaining active army military base in the state of Montana. The museum is made up of a visitor’s center, chapel, main exhibit hall, museum gift shop, and outside exhibit areas.
