The perfect escape for art lovers
A public, nonprofit, educational facility that was founded in 1951 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is home of the former Western Clay Manufacturing Company and today is the home for an Artist-in-Residence program that has drawn artists from around the world for the last 50 years. This is a wonderful place where artistic ideas are exchanged in a creative, dynamic atmosphere.
Offering access to the finest ceramic arts in the nation the Archie Bray Foundation displays and sells the artwork of resident artists. Exhibitions are held in the Pottery Gallery throughout the year. The permanent ceramics collection contains over 1,000 ceramic art pieces by previous residents, historical pieces as well as works by world-renowned artists Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada, Peter Voulkos, Rudy Autio, Ken Feruson and Avid Shaaner.
