Helena Regional Communities

Get to know the Helena Area.

Agusta: The gateway to the immense Bob Marshall Wilderness and adjoining Scapegoat Wilderness and home of "The Wildest One Day Show on Earth" an annual American Legion Rodeo. This is a friendly town with restaurants, motels and visitor services.

Boulder: Home to Boulder Hot Springs and Elkhorn Ghost Town and its most prominent landmark, the historic Jefferson County Courthouse built in 1889.  This is a great area for hiking and exploring.

Jefferson City: Named after President Thomas Jefferson by Lewis and Clark during their exploration of the area. Today enjoy the Tizer Botanic Gardens and a tour down the lovely gardens and view the high altitude flora and fauna. Tizer Lakes are also nearby and a great way to spend an afternoon.

Lincoln:The continental Divide cuts right through this area.  Sun River Canyon lies to the east and Blackfoot River Valley  lies to the west.  The town boasts many historic buildings including the Community Hall.

Townsend: Located at the end of beautiful Canyon Ferry Lake Townsend offers amazing fishing and hunting.  The city also hosts the Montana High Country Cattle Drive that occurs three times a year.
