The Myrna Loy Center for the Performing & Media Arts

The perfect place for an evening out.

The Myrna Loy Center offers a diverse array of music, theater, dance, festivals and films.  It also presents contemporary media and performing arts as well as premier works by Montana artists. The Performing Arts Center was originally the county jail, it has recently been renovated and named for one of Helena’s own-film star Myrna Loy. 

In the frontier days of 1860, travelling troupes and theater companies would take up residency in Helena during the long winter months.  Vaudeville entertainment came to town with the advent of the railroads. For 25 years the Center has been an actively promoting the arts in Helena.  It started in 1976 as the Helena Film Society to provide alternative film options to the community.  In 1979 the Series for Performing Arts began presenting traditional and innovative works by regional and national artists.

The center is located on 15 N. Ewing in Helena.

Upcoming performances include: "The Locust Dance","Victoria Marks", "Ron K. Brown/Evidence", "So Percussion"and Scott/Powell Performance".
