The Cathedral of St. Helena

A Cathedral filled with history and worship.

In 1905 the Cathedral of St. Helena was commissioned to be designed by the architect Mr. A.O. Von Herbulisle, an architect chosen for his extensive knowledge of cathedrals in Europe.  His design was a beautifully classic Gothic structure.  Building of the cathedral began in 1908, in 1914 and the community of Helena came together to celebrate the first Eucharist, however, the church was not completed  until June of 1924. In the autumn of 1935 a series of earthquakes hit the Big Sky state and the cathedral of St Helena suffered extensive damage.  The South tower was almost completely demolished but has since been repaired. It has also been completely renovated inside and out and an elevator has been installed.  The cathedral offers worship services as well as fun family activities and events such as the annual parish Fun Run and Turkey Fun run.
