Big Brothers Big Sisters of Helena Montana is a rewarding way to get involved in the community.
The people of Helena reach out to to at-risk kids through mentoring and friendship.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Helena’s philosophy is "to provide successful mentoring relationships to all children who need and want them, contributing to better schools, brighter futures and stronger communities for all."
One-on-one mentoring helps kids to face the challenges of today. Kids who are in these programs are less likely to try illegal drugs or alcohol, they are more likely to attend school and go to individual classes and they have more confidence in every aspect of their lives. This is such a wonderful program and it has such a huge impact in the lives of these children. The volunteers are carefully screened and each volunteer is supervised by a trained, professional Case Manager. These programs target children ages 6-18. Volunteers can either choose to meet kids after school or on weekends or they can meet kids on school property for lunch or to play on the playground.
Every year Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Montana hosts the biggest and longest-running fundraiser…Bowl For Kids’ Sake. Contact the local Helena branch to find out how you can participate in this fun event.
